I have known Henrik since our time together at Fritz Hansen, and when I needed a COO to lead a complex operational transformation at Varier Furniture, he was my first call. Henrik closed our Ålesund factory, restructured product development and customer service across markets, and established a new production partnership in Eastern Europe — all while keeping the organisation stable and the culture intact. He combines strategic clarity with genuine shop-floor credibility, which is rare.

Henrik is the rare operations leader who does not just design LEAN systems — he lives them. At Kvadrat, his 'walk the talk' approach was the foundation of everything we built together... Henrik trusted me with increasing responsibility, including leading our own shop floor operations in Saudi Arabia. I now teach LEAN methodology at university level, and Henrik's approach remains one of my clearest examples of what real operational leadership looks like.

I hired Henrik into his first role at Fritz Hansen, and I have followed his development ever since — first as his manager, later as a colleague, and today as a friend. From customer service to Head Planner, Supply Chain Manager and ultimately the architect of Fritz Hansen's operational strategy, Henrik grew into every role faster than expected and always pushed the boundaries of what was possible. I invested in his APICS education because I could see early on that he had the intellect and the ambition to use it. What distinguished Henrik was his ability to translate strategic frameworks — S&OP, LEAN, supply chain optimisation — into real, lasting change on the floor. He did not inherit a LEAN culture at Fritz Hansen. He built it. That is a different thing entirely.
